1809: passing of Martin-Eloy Lignereux.
1804: Martin-Eloy Lignereux, struck down by illness, relinquishes his stock of artworks to bronze-maker Pierre-Philippe Thomire. Thomire keeps selling the Lignereux works during the First Empire.
1802-1803: Martin-Eloy Lignereux is twice awarded a gold medal at the Exposition des Produits de l’Industrie Française. The newspaper La Gazette Nationale ou le Moniteur Universel mentions admiringly “the elegance and richness, […] the harmony between all parts, […] the accuracy and finishing of the internal and external craftsmanship” of the works of “Citizen Lignereux”.
1789: in October 1789, Queen Marie-Antoinette entrusts Lignereux and Daguerre with the personal collection of objets d’art that she displayed in her Versailles apartments, in order to protect it from potential vandalism.
1787: Martin-Eloy Lignereux partners with marchand-mercier Dominique Daguerre.
1781: on his marriage contract, Martin-Eloy Lignereux is identified as “marchand mercier in Paris”.
